Rick will race
Rick Morris (pictured) is preparing to race this Baja Bug in the 47th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race, one of the longest and most dangerous desert races in the world, to raise money for HeartGift, a non-profit organization that brings children from countries with little or no available medical care to the United States for life-saving heart surgery. In its 14-year history, HeartGift has saved more than 200 children from over 30 countries. Houston surgeries are performed at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital by Dr. William Douglas and Dr. Michael Hines. HeartGift also has chapters in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and New Orleans. Rick will race Nov. 12-16 on the 1,130-mile route, which starts in Ensenada, Baja California, and ends in La Paz, Baja California Sur. To make a pledge, see heartgift.org.
