Kayla Pearl

Hi, my name is Kayla Pearl. I am a junior at Lamar High School. I moved to Houston 4 years ago from South Africa. I love living in Houston because it is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with great restaurants and an embracing diverse community. I discovered my love for writing at an early age when I received my first journal, and I have kept one ever since. This has developed into a passion for writing, whether it be creative, essay, poetry or songs. My other passion is music, and not only am I an avid rock fan, I also play guitar and piano.  I am very excited to have this opportunity to participate in School Buzz because I am considering a career in journalism. After a long year of online learning, I am thrilled to go back to school and get involved.
