Second Annual Alexander Meyerson Triathlon
Congratulations to the 15 kids (ages 9-14) who completed the second annual Alexander Meyerson Triathlon last weekend! These kids completed a six-week clinic at the Weekley Family YMCA and the race was the culminating activity. The kids learn and improve their swimming, biking and running skills during the camp.
Stacy Benson, whose twins Kendall and Kaegan participated in the camp, said they were so excited and proud of their own accomplishments and the accomplishments of the other kids on a daily basis. She said the camp built their self-esteem and they were so proud to finish the triathlon on Saturday.
The triathlon was named after Alexander Meyerson, who passed away last summer. He was going to coach the camp, so it was then held in his honor.
His dad, Jerry Meyerson, was particularly touched by the parents’ positive feedback because one of the last things he and Alexander talked about is how he loved to help kids.
