Everyone’s buzzing about the Houston Astros as they’re now in the postseason and poised to play against the New York Yankees tonight, 7 p.m. central. As we’re prepping to root for our ’Stros tonight, we take a look back at the last time they made it to the postseason.
This 2005 article by Greg Hassell includes a conversation with Nolan Ryan and his wife, Ruth, the day after Nolan made that first World Series pitch.
"Much has changed since the Astros last made it to the post season, including a new owner, new players and new uniforms, which look much like the club's originals,” Greg said today. “In that decade, Nolan Ryan left the club and is now back again - right where we want him to stay, with the Astros."
