Vegetables, fruits, flowers. Natural honey, fresh salsas and locally sourced jams. You can find a world of fresh, local foods at Houston’s farmers markets.

It’s a fun experience for the family or for a couple to wander through the stands and pick out fresh fruits and veggies. Many vendors will offer samples, and some of the markets include food trucks and vendors selling prepared foods so you can enjoy a meal at the market.

Meyerland Farmers Market

Head to the Meyerland Farmers Market at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Saturday mornings. Beautiful produce, locally made cheeses and fresh food products are for sale.

Memorial Villages Farmers Market

Every Saturday, local farmers will bring their best fresh produce, flowers, meats and dairy products to the Memorial Villages Farmers Market. Pick up a cup of coffee while you shop. Bring the kids and make time for them to enjoy the playgrounds. Stick around for the demonstrations and lectures.

Rice Farmers Market

Head down to the Rice University campus parking lot for an array of fresh produce sold by local vendors at the Rice Farmers Market. Don’t worry if you don’t have cash; tokens can be purchased with a check and used with vendors.

Chimney Rock Farmers Market

Come to the Chimney Rock Farmers Market for fresh, local produce, food trucks, artisan gifts and more.

Hours: First Sunday of every month, 12-4 p.m. 

Eastside Farmers Market

The Eastside Farmers Market is a bustling spot with plenty to choose from. Growers offer vegetables, fruits, farm products, dairy products, prepared foods, cut flowers and plants every Saturday. Start your Saturday morning with a healthy breakfast and freshly roasted coffee from local vendors.

The Heights Epicurean Farmers Market

The Heights Epicurean Farmers Market, which is held on the first Saturday of the month, offers the chance to shop for interesting crafts and foods and meet the local artisans, farmers and vendors.

Hours: First Saturday of every month, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

The owners of Cavatore Italian Restaurant are introducing a new Farmers Market to the Heights, Eleanora's Market. Every Saturday, guests can take part in a community gathering with a layout of high-quality produce. In addition to cheeses, meats and baked goods from local vendors, the markets will also display custom-made boots, belts, wallets, textiles and flowers.

Westchase District Farmers Market

Westchase District Farmers Market holds its Westchase District Farmers Market at 3 p.m. 

Thursdays at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church. Shoppers will find locally grown seasonal fresh produce and foods from more than two dozen vendors. Look for pork, lamb, beef, eggs, produce and cheeses

Brookwood Farmers Market

Gallery Furniture sponsors the Brookwood Farmers Market, which provides the community with fresh local produce, food truck samplings and on-site gardening techniques taught by Fort Bend County Master Gardeners Association. The market will also have a pet adoption station.

Farmers Market at Imperial                                                                                                     

Sugar Land hosts the Farmers Market at Imperial with fresh-tasting produce, one-a-kind arts and crafts and artisan finds at the old Imperial Sugar plant. Local musicians provide entertainment.

Galveston's Own Farmers Market

On Thursdays and Saturdays, Galveston offers Galveston's Own Farmers Market with a wide selection of fresh produce, locally sourced foods, dairy-free products, microgreens, raw honey and baked goods.
