Bruno Mars

A snapshot from the recent, popular Bruno Mars concert.

November, aka The Month Before The Holiday Season. Before things get too hectic, enjoy the cooler weather with a fun concert! A lot of these are free or cheap, too!

Nov. 1: The Molly Ringwalds @ Avenida Houston

This event is FREE and will be held on Avenida Plaza in front of GRB Convention Center. There will be craft beer, food and games too.

Nov. 2: Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band @ Smart Financial Centre

Ringo Starr - one of the original Beatles! Did you know Ringo is the one who sings “Yellow Submarine”?

Nov. 3: Ed Sheeran @ Minute Maid Park

Due to a bike accident and a broken arm, Ed Sheeran cancelled a few dates on his tour, but Houston is still happening!

Nov. 3: Dumpstaphunk @ Last Concert Café

Dumpstaphunk often plays at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them play a few times. They are a great live music funk bank. If you like fun live music, this is a great show to go to.

Nov. 4: Hoodie Allen @ House of Blues

Hoodie Allen is known for hits “Eighteen Cool,” “No Interruption,” and “No Faith in Brooklyn.” He is a rapper from Long Island, NYC.

Nov. 4: Houston Turkish Festival @ Jones Plaza

This event was pushed back due to Hurricane Harvey, but it is happening now! This event will include not only concerts (Turkish Opera Under the Stars, folk dance performances with famous Turkish musicians), but will also feature food, art, fashion, history and a “grand bazaar.” It is not to be missed!

Nov. 4: The Vienna Boys Choir @ Houston Baptist University

The VBC is world-renowned for its beautiful concerts and renditions of both popular music and traditional Austrian songs.

Nov. 5: Blue Oyster Cult @ Karbach Brewing Company

This month, Blue Oyster Cult is playing as part of a concert series at Karbach Brewing Company. If you like beer or live music or BOTH, this will be really fun.

Nov. 7: Fall Out Boy @ Toyota Center

Fall Out Boy is a middle school throwback for anyone my age, but somehow, this band never became not-cool. Enjoy a great show at Toyota Center!

Nov. 7: So You Think You Can Dance @ Smart Financial Centre

The live tour of SYTYCD is coming to Sugar Land! If you watch the TV show or if you just like to watch live dancing to music, get your tickets for this unique opportunity!

Nov. 8: Jay-Z @ Toyota Center

Jay-Z recently played at Austin City Limits, and festival goers complained that his set was too short. If you buy tickets for his concert, you can ensure that you see more of Jay-Z than you might’ve at ACL.

Nov. 8-12: Disney On Ice presents Reach For The Stars @ NRG Center

This isn’t necessarily a concert, but Disney on Ice features a great ice skating performance set to music and your favorite Disney characters. I went before when I was little and it was great.

Nov. 10: Guns N’ Roses @ Toyota Center

Are you even a hard rocker if you haven’t seen Guns N’ Roses live? Methinks not.

Nov. 11: The Temptations and The Four Tops @ Arena Theatre

These classic Motown 60s groups were known for their amazing harmonies and will put on an amazing live show—no lip synching here.

Nov. 12: Imagine Dragons @ Toyota Center

The band behind “Demons,” “Believer,” and “Radioactive,” Imagine Dragons will play all your favorite songs at Toyota Center.

Nov. 14: Willie Nelson @ Smart Financial Centre

Willie Nelson is a Texas legend. This is one you really don’t want to miss if you love Texas music.

Nov. 16: Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull @ Toyota Center

Pitbull and Enrique came to Houston this past summer. They always put on a party, and their songs are so catchy.

Nov. 16: Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham @ Smart Financial Centre

Two original Fleetwood Mac members singing the hits at Smart Financial. I’ve seen them before, and they were great.

Nov. 17: alt-J @ White Oak Music Hall

This will be a fun show at a fun venue. Alt-J has played at festivals and shows all over the world, and are a good band to say you’ve seen if you like live music.

Nov. 18: Ice Cube, Bun B, Lil Keke, etc. at H-Town West Fest @ Smart Financial Centre

I saw Ice Cube at ACL, and he put on a really fun show. He gets the crowd really hyped up. Other great rappers will be in attendance, too.

Nov. 19: 21 Savage @ Revention Music Center

21 Savage is an American rapper from Atlanta. He released new music in 2016 and 2017, so he’ll be sure to play his new stuff.

Nov. 20: Jack & Jack @ House of Blues

Jack & Jack became famous on popular video app Vine and are now touring the country as a music duo.

Nov. 21: Tyler The Creator @ Warehouse Live

Tyler the Creator has been on the music scene since 2009, and his music is still popular and fun. Tickets are technically sold out but this website explains how to still get them.

Nov. 22: Joe Ely @ McGonigel’s Mucky Duck

Is my monthly concert list ever complete if I don’t include a show by folk rocker Joe Ely? This month he’s playing at one of his regular spots, the Mucky Duck.

Nov. 26: Jhene Aiko @ House of Blues

Jhene Aiko is an R&B singer who, in addition to having successful singles, has been featured on many popular rap songs.
