San Luis Salute

Woohoo, the Rodeo is in town! So for obvious reasons, this month’s concert blog features many of the Rodeo performers who will be hanging out in Houston this month. Besides these awesome performers, check out other acts coming to Houston this month, too:

Mar 1: Blake Shelton @ HLSR

Blake Shelton, a judge on The Voice and a Rodeo veteran, is a great show to see whether you like country music or not. He’s a bit of a jokester and is a good personality to have for the Rodeo. Maybe he will bring Gwen Stefani along, too?

Mar 1: AWOLNATION @ Revention Music Center

Remember the song “Sail” that was popular a few years ago? That’s AWOLNATION. Great throwback band!

Mar 1: Thomas Csorba @ Lupa’s Coffee

Csorba is a Memorial High School grad who writes and performs his own songs. This show is actually in College Station, so if you go to A&M or are looking for a quick drive, this show is good for you. Go support a local!

Mar 2: Desiigner and Steve Aoki @ Revention Music Center

For those into both rap and EDM/dance music, this is the show for you! A great crossover of music types.

Mar 4: Alessia Cara @ HLSR

Alessia Cara has been putting out lots of popular songs, and is featured on a lot of the top pop songs of the moment. You’ll recognize her from “Here,” “Stay,” and “Scars To Your Beautiful.”

Mar 6: Jason Aldean @ HLSR

I saw Jason Aldean a few years ago at the Rodeo, and he put on a GREAT performance. Even if you’re not that into country music, you will recognize a lot of his songs and have a great time.

Mar 6: Earth, Wind, and Fire @ Smart Financial Centre

Having seen EW&F multiple times in concert, I can honestly say it is one of the most fun shows I’ve ever been to! The band is still full of energy and continues to sing all the hits.

Mar 9: Luke Bryan @ HLSR

Luke Bryan is a Rodeo veteran because he puts on a fun show. It’s very poppy, so don’t worry if you’re not a major country fan. Get ready for lots of hip swinging and winking from this flirty performer.

Mar 14: OneRepublic @ HLSR

I’m excited for OneRepublic at the Rodeo! They have been putting out hits for the past 10 or so years and are still going strong. Songs to look out for: “Counting Stars,” “Secrets,” and “No Vacancy.”

Mar 17: Excision @ Revention Music Center

Excision is a Canadian DJ who draws huge crowds for EDM/dance music.

Mar 19: Lorde @ Toyota Center

For those who missed out on Lorde last year at Free Press Summer Fest, she’s back! This is definitely the show to be at this month.

Mar 21: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo @ Smart Financial Centre

You’ve probably heard of Pat Benatar ("Heartbreaker", anyone?), but Neil Giraldo is an extra treat - he’s a guitarist known for being “underrated.”

Mar 23: Bon Jovi @ Toyota Center

Throwback to the ‘80s! Don’t live on a prayer and get your tickets before they sell out!

Mar 31: Paul Wall @ The Studio at Warehouse Live

Paul Wall is a Houston-bred rapper who frequently raps (and reps) Houston. He also makes grillz, even making some for the Astros when they won the World Series!

Mar 31: Chicago @ Smart Financial Centre

Another throwback! Chicago is a great band and will do well at Smart Financial, with wonderful acoustics that will complement the many live instruments that Chicago will bring.
