Eat, drink and be Murphy
Family and friends looked on as bride Kylie Fichter walked down the aisle at St. Michael Catholic Church toward her high-school sweetheart, Pace Murphy. After the couple said, “I do,” guests enjoyed a reception in the ballroom of The Junior League of Houston. Shaon and the Girls with Success from New Orleans kept the dance floor busy. A Louisiana-style second-line parade, led by the band and complete with hankies to wave, beads and confetti, took the wedding party through the crowd, down the drive and to the St. Regis Hotel. Pace, a graduate of Strake Jesuit and Northwestern State University, plays football for the San Francisco 49ers. Kylie, a graduate of St. Agnes Academy, graduated from the University of Mississippi last May. The couple met in the fall of 2010 while in high school. Even with the miles between them in college, their relationship flourished. After honeymooning in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, they planned to return to Texas for a short time before making their home in Santa Clara, Calif., with their new chocolate Lab puppy, Tex. Parents are Mark and Joni Fichter and Texas state Rep. Jim and Dr. Kathleen Murphy.
