Event Roundup: Memorial Day Weekend Special
With Memorial Day around the corner, we pause to remember those who died while serving to protect this country, and also spend time with family and friends. There are lots of events happening this weekend; here are just a few:
Family-Friendly Events:
Memorial Day Weekend is adding some extra sights and sounds at CityCentre with four spectacular nights of music and entertainment that the whole family will enjoy. Not only is this a tribute to the troops, but each night’s musical performances are in tribute to iconic bands.
Family Movie Night: The Incredibles
Pack those blankets and come dressed in your favorite superhero costume for the screening of The Incredibles at Levy Park. Experience all that Mr. Incredible and his family have in store for you as they fight evil villains in this thrilling, kid-friendly movie.
Bring the whole family out for a fun day of games, rides, activities and more at Discovery Green. Everyone will be wowed by the special appearances of superhero characters and the performances of some of Houston’s most famous dance troupes. Don’t forget about the fun festival rides too.
Cool off from the bright sunshine and Texas heat at The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center’s annual Memorial Day Pool Party featuring a DJ, prizes, games, food, and more.
This annual community party at Emancipation Park will be a fun-filled day of activities for the entire family to enjoy. You can’t go wrong being surrounded by good food, great entertainment, and spectacular people. With tons of games and activities, this is an event for those of all ages.
What better way to celebrate a long weekend than with great food from some of the best food trucks Houston has to offer. Located in the Galleria area, this event will feature over 20 food trucks, along with tons of games and activities for the whole family, this is a great way to relax and spent time with friends and family.
Come on out to Rice Village and take in the sounds of summer, a weekly concert series that concludes on Friday with a dance party with DJ Mr. Duke. This lively experience is one that will get everyone up and dancing!
Bring the whole family out to Evelyn’s Park to create stunning tissue flowers. This relaxing art class is kid friendly and great way to experience the Texas heat before it gets too bad.
Join in on the party at the Houston Bubble Run at Sam Houston Race Park. Kids of all ages can run through different colors of foam and get covered head to toe in the foamy goodness. After the fun race, attendees are invited to enjoy music and free swag. There’s lots in store for the kiddos at the Bubble Run!
Join living legends, industry icons, scientific marvels, and more at Comicpalooza. All within the George R. Brown Convention Center, this pop culture festival is welcome celebrity guests and fun activities for all comic enthusiasts to enjoy.

Memorial Day Party at Lincoln Bar
This adults-only party will feature multiple DJs, hosts, drinks, and more at this Memorial Day party. 21+
Heaven on Earth All White Day Party at Capitol Bar
Come dressed from head to toe in all white to get free admission for this Memorial Day party. 21+.
Memorial Day Weekend Day Party
This infamous day party series is back with a special Memorial Day Weekend day party taking place at The Address. Complete with happy hour, frozen drinks, multiple DJs, and the Rockets vs. Warriors Game 6 watch party, this free event is open to all adults. The Rockets will be playing in San Francisco on Saturday, May 26 at 8pm as part of the Conference Finals. 21+.
Daybreak Memorial Day Weekend Party
Dress in your best summer fashion forward attire for Clé Houston’s annual Daybreak party during Memorial Day Weekend. With over 6 DJs and tons of dancing, this party will be a blast for all adults. 21+.
Memorial Day Ceremonies:
Memorial Day Remembrance at George Ranch Historical Park
Discover Memorial Day’s historical roots and enjoy a special remembrance to those who have died for this country. The whole family is invited for this special day and are invited to stay for a Memorial Day Lunch following the ceremony.
Memorial Day Ceremony at Houston National Cemetery
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs is hosting a ceremony to honor fallen war heroes. This is one of many commemorative events hosted across the country by the National Cemetery Administration and is expected to have a special touch of patriotism and “thanks.”
Honor America’s fallen heroes at this special Memorial Day ceremony in The Square at Memorial City. Attendees can pay tribute and watch a color guard ceremony, along with experience live country music and activities for all to enjoy.
Memorial Day Festival in The Woodlands
Featuring live music, children’s activities, entertainment, a fireworks display, and much more, Town Green Park is a place for all to come and pay tribute to military service men and women and honor veterans.
