Día de los Muertos
The first-annual Día de los Muertos festival at Discovery Green on Friday starting at 6 p.m. celebrates Day of the Dead. The event includes hands-on art activities, artist demos, cultural performances, a concert, sweet treats and more.
Art @ Discovery Green
The outdoor fine art and contemporary craft market takes place at Discovery Green this wekened with a preview event on Friday, 6-10 a.m. and continuing on Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This year’s featured artist is Mario E. Figueroa Jr. - the iconic Houston street artist best known as GONZO247.
Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival
The annual Jewish Book & Arts Festival kicks off this Saturday and continues through Nov. 13. Opening night on Saturday features writer, producer and director Nell Scovell, author of Just the Funny Parts:…And a Few Hard Truths About Sneaking into the Hollywood Boys’ Club. She’s most known for her work behind the scenes of TV shows such as The Simpsons, Late Night with David Letterman, NCIS and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Tents in Town
The Patrons for Bellaire Parks presents the annual Tents in Town, the ultimate camp-out experience, Saturday-Sunday at Bellaire Town Square. There will be entertainment, inflatables, a magician, a climbing wall and more camp-out fun.
Heartmade Harvest Market
On Saturday night, the inaugural Heartmade Harvest Market will take place at Main Street Square. There will be more than 70 regional artists selling a wide range of items, music, food trucks, beverages, cotton candy, photo ops with characters from the H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, free custom poems and a paint-by-numbers mural station. The event is free to attend and all booth fees benefit nonprofit Hoof Prints and Heart Beats.
