I always take my girlfriends’ advice. That’s why I am married. When Michael and I first met, it was not love at first sight. Or even second. On our second date, he opened the trunk of his car, and I saw that it was spotless. I thought, this isn’t going to work. But we did go out again. This time, we combined our friend groups for a night of miniature golf. His hair had grown since our first date. He was wearing a yellow and white striped shirt and jeans. He looked pretty darn cute. My girlfriends said, Joni, what is wrong with you? Marry that boy! From that day on, I looked at him differently. The love bug bit. Yes, 31 years later, his trunk is still immaculate, while mine definitely isn’t, and we are happy together. Nudges from others can work. Some Buzz neighbors got more than a nudge – their marriages were arranged.
