Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Happy Friday! Here are some fun happenings this weekend.

The Rink – Rolling at Discovery Green
Houston’s first outdoor roller rink returns for a fourth season at Discovery Green, opening on Friday evening! Enjoy the French Cultures kick-off concert on Friday, when you can skate while listening to the music of French-speaking countries. 

Azalea Trail
Celebrate the start of spring with the 85th annual Azalea Trail, happening all weekend long! Tickets include admission to four private homes, Bayou Bend and Rienzi as well as The Forum of Civics. Proceeds from the event go to several community non-profits include Bayou Bend, Alzheimer’s Association and Memorial Park Conservancy. 

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Visit NRG Park for weekend one of the 2020 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Highlights for the weekend include Chance the Rapper performing on Friday night, Maren Morris on Saturday night and Go Tejano Day on Sunday. See the full schedule here.

French Festival Kick-Off Concert
The French Cultural Festival kicks off Friday evening at Discovery Green with a free, family-friendly concert. Internationally-acclaimed French-American artist CharlElie Couture will be performing along with two other bands. 

Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta
Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race takes place on Saturday morning at Allen’s Landing. Paddlers are encouraged to participate on this 15-mile race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou. 

Memorial Villages Food Truck Rodeo 
Memorial Villages Police Foundation presents the Memorial Villages Food Truck Rodeo at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church on Saturday. Look forward to family-friendly fun and games plus a variety of food trucks. 

Enjoy a free, family-friendly afternoon at Evelyn's Park on Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. 

Family Day in the Park
Enjoy a free, family-friendly afternoon at Evelyn's Park on Saturday! Presented by Texas Children's Hospital Specialty Care, this is event is full of fun, including inflatables, carnival games, music, and food. 

FotoFest Biennial 2020 Grand Opening
The oldest and longest running international celebration of photography kicks off on Saturday at Silver Street Studios with music and refreshments! The theme of this year’s exhibition is African Cosmologies, with a focus on artists of Africa and the global African diaspora.
