Nineteen years ago, Michael and I started The Bellaire Buzz from our dining room table. Michael had just come home from surgery after being laid off from his job a few months earlier. It was scary, and life was uncertain. We hoped our new magazine would be successful, but we had no guarantee, only dreams. We have been blessed. With the help of our talented team, The Buzz has expanded to include West University, Memorial, River Oaks and Tanglewood in addition to an active website and social media. Now it seems life has strangely come full circle, as we are back at our dining room table working remotely. However, our goal remains the same: to share residents’ stories one neighborhood at a time. This issue inspires me, and I hope it will inspire you too, with local stories about women who beautifully rock gray hair, a beloved heart-transplant patient, and life lessons/grooming tips from a fiery grandmother named Grandmier. Whichever room you’re reading this in, know that we are grateful for you. Stay well. [email protected]
