Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Happy Friday! Check out these exciting events happening this weekend. 

Movies at Market Square Park
The Downtown District will be hosting this popular outdoor film series of '80s and '90s classics through the month of May. On Friday, come see The Bodyguard, starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.

La Finta Semplice (The Clever Deceiver)
Visit the Moores Opera House in person or stream the production to your home. Performances are on Friday and Sunday. To secure in-person tickets, purchase online in advance.

Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival
On Saturday or Sunday, head to the Woodlands for the Waterway Arts Festival. In the Woodlands Waterway and Town Green Park will be original art including painting, fiber, jewelry, photography, ceramics, glasswork and mixed media. 

Never the Sinner by John Logan 
This event will streamed virtually Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. To view this Off-Broadway hit, register for a free ticket in advance.

The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green
Lace up your roller blades and get movin this weekend! Reserve your time slot online before they sell out.

Public Piano Play
Come out and enjoy the outdoor solar-powered piano on Friday at Levy Park. This event is fun and free for all to practice their skills!

Sawyer Yards Second Saturday
Spend the second Saturday of this month wandering through Sawyer Yards' six studio buildings, where you can find a selection of paintings, sculptures, photography and more.

Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics
The Houston Astros play the Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park this weekend on Friday and Saturday evenings. These will be the first games with fans in the stands at Minute Maid Park since Game 7 of the 2019 World Series. 

Houston Dash vs. Red Stars
The Houston Dash will kick off their title defense Friday when they play against the Chicago Red Stars, including former Dash player Kelia Watt.
