Movie Night at Market Square Park
Market Square Park will be showing Nine to Five (PG) on Friday night at 8 p.m. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome, and beer and wine will be for sale on site.
The Texas Turbines at Evelyn’s Park
Come to Betsy's at Evelyn's Park on Friday evening for live music by The Texas Turbines.
Houston Ballet Reignited
For the first time in over a year, the Houston Ballet and the Houston Ballet Orchestra will perform live this Friday and Saturday at Miller Outdoor Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.
Mother’s Day Weekend at Bayou Bend
Mothers receive free admission this Saturday at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Enjoy live harp music, pick up an art-making kit (while supplies last), and check out the self-guided tour highlighting motherhood in early America. Tickets for adults are $12.50 and $6.25 for kids.
Sawyer Yards Second Saturday
Spend Saturday afternoon wandering through Sawyer Yards' six studio buildings to view a selection of painting, sculpture, photography and more. The event is free and open to the public.
Puppies for Breakfast Dog Festival
This festival on Saturday afternoon was planned with your furry friend in mind. Bring your pet and play in the 2500 square foot play-area, walk around to view vendor and artist booths, and grab lunch from the food trucks on-site at Midway East River. Enter your pup into the doggy costume contest. The event is free, but there is a $5 suggested donation at the door that will support local rescues.
Houston Grand Opera Presents My Favorite Things: Songs from The Sounds of Music
Houston Grand Opera’s production of The Sound of Music was cancelled last spring. This Saturday evening, a few cast members and the HGO Chorus and Orchestra come together to fill TDECU Stadium with songs from the show. The audience is invited to sing along with some of Houston’s finest singers and musicians to the classics from The Sound of Music. Admission for adults is $10 and $7.50 for children.
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Virtual Rodeo Run
The Virtual Rodeo Run wraps up this weekend. Sign up to run a 5K, 10K, the 1 Mile Kids Race, the 1932 Challenge, or the Sleep-In option (no running necessary) and participate virtually by running around your own neighborhood or trail.
Astros vs. Blue Jays
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Astros face the Blue Jays at Minute Maid Park.
UH Cougars Baseball vs. University of Cincinnati
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Cougars face the Bearcats at Schroeder Park.
