Happy Friday! Check out these exciting events happening this weekend. And Go 'Stros!
Astros vs. Red Sox
With the Astros up by one, they need one more win to head to the World Series. Cheer on the ‘Stros this weekend at Minute Maid. Game 6 is 7:08 p.m. tonight. Game 7, if need be, would be Saturday at 7:08 p.m. Tune in on Fox to watch the game or listen on 790 AM/93.3 FM.
City of West U's Arbor Day Celebration
On Friday evening at Colonial Park, the City of West U will hold its annual Arbor Day Celebration. Residents will take home one complimentary tree per household and West U’s Urban Forester Craig Koehl will be there to answer any questions about planting and preservation. This event is free to residents of West U and is held in conjunction with the Full Moon Fest.
Full Moon Fest
Also held at Colonial Park on Friday night, the Full Moon Fest will have activities for the whole family like bounce houses, face painting, activity booths, and a pumpkin patch. There will also be a costume contest for ages 3 to 14. The evening of events concludes with a showing of The Croods: A New Age (PG) at 7 p.m. This event is free for West U residents.
ArBOOretum
Embrace fall with the Arboretum’s biggest family event of the year, happening all day Saturday. ArBOOretum features fun fall activities such as pumpkin decorating, train rides, a petting zoo, and a Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail. Online presale tickets (available here) are $15. Tickets at the door are $10. Children under 3 years old are free.
5th Annual ARTumn Fest
Browse through art at this two-day art festival at CityCentre on Saturday and Sunday including live music, art vendors and more. This event is free and open to the public.
2021 KBR Kids Day
KBR Kids Day is free and open to the public. Buffalo Bayou Partnership expects thousands of kids and families to join for the 14th Annual KBR Kids Day at Tony Marron Park. Activity stations will include face painting, balloon artists, and a rock climbing wall. Costumes are encouraged and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Dance of Asian America presents Asia to the World
At Miller Outdoor Theatre on Saturday night, Dance of Asian America presents Asia to the World, a dance performance with authentic Chinese dance, music, and costumes. This event is free and open to the public.
Rockets vs. OKC Thunder
The first home game for the Rockets is tonight against the OKC Thunder at the Toyota Center. Watch on AT&T Sportsnet – Southwest or listen on 790 AM/93.3 FM.
