Editor's Note - February 2022
In February, we always tell love stories. Reading about weddings makes me reminisce about my own, which almost did not happen. My fiancé locked his keys in his trunk and missed his flight to our wedding location, Carmel. This was before cell phones and the internet, so the missed calls about full flights sent everyone into a panic. In today’s Covid era, so many families have been put through the emotional rollercoaster of having to reschedule weddings and milestone celebrations. In this issue, you’ll meet newlyweds who had to roll with the punches, plus longtime couples who said “I do” and “I do again” to keep the love alive. And you won’t forget the young parents for whom hearts have meaning way beyond Valentine’s Day. As for our wedding, Michael was walking out of the airport to drive the eight hours instead when the agent yelled, “Wait, here is a message from your soon-to-be wife! She booked you on a flight through Sacramento and San Jose!” So, 33 years later, I’m happy to say, the wayward fiancé did make it. [email protected]
