FotoFest 2022 Sip & Stroll: Paul Swen
As part of the FotoFest 2022 Biennial festival, the City of Bellaire and the Bellaire Culture and Arts Board presents a breathtaking exhibition featuring photographic imagery from artist and Bellaire resident Paul Swen. Join the Bellaire Culture & Arts Board for a Sip & Stroll on Friday, 5-8 p.m., at the Bellaire Civic Center, to enjoy wine, photographers, and engage with photographer Paul Swen. Saint Arnold Oktoberfest
Saint Arnold Brewery is hosting a full weekend of Oktoberfest festivities with celebration at the Beer Garden on Friday and Saturday, 6-9 p.m., and the Oktoberfest Classic Party in the Beer Hall on Sunday. There will be live music, beer goggle races, the King and Queen of Oktoberfest Costume Contest, and more.
Family Movie Night at Levy Park
Bring the family to Levy Park for Family Movie Night, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital, on Friday night. Raya and the Last Dragon (PG) will be shown starting at 7:30 p.m.
Boo on the Boardwalk
Kemah Boardwalk is offering “spooktacular” fun every weekend in October, kicking off this Friday. Look forward to live music, Halloween-themed movies, spooky craft activities for kids, and live entertainment.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2022
Susan G. Komen is holding its Houston Race for the Cure on Saturday. Proceeds raise funds that support breast cancer patients and cancer research. Opening ceremony begins at 7:45 a.m., the race begins at 8 a.m., and a post-race celebration in Sam Houston Park begins at 9:30 a.m.
Zoo Boo 2022
Zoo Boo 2022 opens this Saturday. Celebrate fall festivities at the Houston Zoo during Zoo Boo presented by LyondellBasell. Costumes are strongly encouraged. Family-friendly attractions include the Giant Pumpkin, Carved Pumpkins, Pumpkin Lantern Tunnel, Scary-Go Round, photo ops, and more. Zoo Boo takes place Oct. 1-31, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.). Every Friday night (starting Oct. 7), Zoo Boo hours are extended until 8:30 p.m.
Biergarten at CityCentre
Cheers to football season and fall weather this weekend at CityCentre’ first Biergarten. Grab a beer and take a seat, Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays
The Astros play the Rays at Minute Maid on Saturday, 6:20 p.m., and Sunday, 1:10 p.m.
Salsa y Salud Produced by Foundation for Modern Music
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Salsa y Salud brings live salsa music and dance performance to Miller Outdoor Theatre on Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
Fall Day with Space City Weather and Reliant
Celebrate fall weather with Space City Weather at their first-ever in-person event at the Houston Botanic Garden on Sunday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. There will be activities for kids and adults to mark the arrival of the first real cool front of the season.
Houston Texans vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Houston Texans play the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at NRG for Pink Ribbon Day. The game will honor breast cancer survivors and those affected by cancer. Kickoff is set for noon.
Blessing of the Animals
The Church of St. John the Divine is hosting a Blessing of the Animals event on Sunday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Pets and their people are welcome for a short service led by the children’s choir, a pet parade, and pet blessings.
Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs (Preseason)
The Rockets play the Spurs at Toyota Center in the Rockets’ first home game of the preseason, Sunday at 6 p.m.
