Meaningful words and recipes
Thank you, Andria Dilling, for the beautiful article that highlights the way food brings people together across generations. Bridging Generations with Community and Cookbooks [Dec. 2025] truly captured the heart behind the work of the Junior League of Houston and the joy that comes from sharing recipes, stories and traditions.
We’ve heard from so many families who were moved by the piece, especially Junior League active and sustainer members who saw their own experiences reflected in how meaningful it can be to cook with parents, grandparents and loved ones.
Food has a special way of connecting us, and we hope this feature inspires even more families to pull out old recipes, try new ones, and create moments together in the kitchen. Thank you again for shining such a kind light on work that means so much to our community.
Katie Doyle, president of the Junior League of Houston
Featuring a standout neighbor
It was my pleasure to reach out and have Leila [Reynolds] recognized for her Santa display [The House Where Santa Lives: A neighborhood’s beacon of Christmas cheer by Cathy Gordon, Dec. 2025]. More importantly, I wanted to share how much she means to our entire community. We are over the moon with how lovely the article turned out. It is such a beautiful piece. I get teary-eyed every time I share her story. Even now just typing this!

Spotlight in Buzz Kidz column
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the opportunity to be featured in the magazine [Spreading joy through music by Jaya Ramineni, Dec. 2025, West University Buzz]. I truly appreciate it. My neighbors really enjoyed seeing the article. Thank you again.

Gourd article
This article was so helpful [The Post-Halloween Spirit: Ways to give and connect by Cheryl Ursin, Nov. 2025]! Please post these ideas every year for pumpkin disposal! I’m never sure where to take mine after the holidays, and I hate throwing them away into the regular trash. The Buzz offers real-life helpful suggestions.

Grand slam
Thank you so much for including my and Romy’s Astros photo in the November Buzz About Town column [“Oh, say can you see” by Angie Frederickson]. The [Charity Guild of Catholic Women] choir was so excited to be recognized for their months of practice. That is not an easy venue to sing in and they did marvelous.
Your magazine is so much fun to read. The personal stories and photos of all are so nice to see. The one on Brooke Michelle [“Album of the year” by Angie Frederickson, Buzz About Town, West University Buzz] was something. So young and so talented. Well, when God gives you gifts, run with it, and she has.

Story is inspiring others
I am still having people talk to me about the article [Battling Cancer: On and off the court by Andria Dilling, Aug. 2025] and how much it touched them. Last week, I had two people tell me they cried reading it. And several who said they shared it with their kids about overcoming challenges.
