MHS Students Wrap Up 2016-17 School Year
The 2016-17 school year was a busy one for Memorial students, from participating in all of the various sports, clubs, and fine arts to studying for APs and SATs. With the end of the year drawing to a close, I decided to speak to a few of my fellow classmates about their favorite memories. In addition to memories of the school year, I also spoke to them about their unique plans for the summer. Here is what they said:
Favorite Memories
"My favorite memory from this school year was going to the football games."-Kendall Rives
"My favorite memories of this year definitely came from track meets. We had a lot of fun going down to Corpus Christi!"-Emily Ward
"My favorite memory of this year was taking a basketball team trip to Austin to get a couple of pre-district games in. It was the first real time that the new team bonded and we all had tons of fun. We lost a lot of seniors last year so the team was very new to playing with each other and the trip really helped us get to know everyone."-Sarah Cowan
"My favorite memory was driving around with my friends and hanging out on the weekends."- Abby Contant
"My favorite memory was walking through the finish line at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer because not only did I feel extremely accomplished but I was very excited to be able to sit down in a chair!"-Kelley Parsons
"My favorite memory was prom."-Hannah Lee
"My favorite memory was my nice, relaxing ski trip during spring break where I was able to get away from the stress of track, school and tests."-Connor Pivateau
"One of my favorite memories was having a huge pizza from Russos and cupcakes for people's birthdays during lunch."- Sasha Daswani

"My favorite memories this year were all of the really fun nights at the football games."-Mary McNulty
"My favorite memories this year was spending time with my friends over the weekend and competing in cross country meets."- Patrick Bullers
Summer Plans
"I'm most looking forward to going to camp this summer."-Kendall Rives
"I'm most looking forward to being a swim instructor this summer! I think it'll be a lot of fun teaching little kids how to swim."-Emily Ward
"I'm most looking forward to sleeping in this summer and also volunteering at the Houston SPCA."-Sarah Cowan
I'm looking forward to hanging out at the lake and being able to chill out here without too much pressure before senior year."- Abby Contant
"This summer I'm looking forward to working on the work crew for my camp (Laity Lodge) for a month."-Kelley Parsons
"I'm looking forward to going to Costa Rica and moving to Austin to go to UT."-Nadia Jafari
"I'm looking forward to going to college and traveling."-Grace Hwang
"I am looking forward to having a fun productive summer and I am looking forward to going to running camp at Adam State."- Connor Pivateau
"During the summer I'm most looking forward to my summer internship at an oil company."- Sasha Daswani
"I'm most excited to become a CIT (Counselor In Training) at my camp."- Meg Espey
