Duchesne has had quite a busy few weeks starting with the first week of school, a new schedule, spirit week, field hockey rivalries and the Strake vs. St. Thomas football game. This year we obtained a new schedule to help lessen the number of schedules we used to have, and so far there have been several opinions, both good and bad, from both faculty and students. In my opinion, it is very helpful to have one hour free in the first half of the day to have time for speakers and activities.
Starting Aug. 27, Duchesne kicked off Spirit Week. Every day during the week featured a new dress up theme, some include Meme Monday and Throwback Thursday. Spirit week leads up to Unity Day, which is an Upper School wide event to bring us together; Unity Day includes various activities and bonding between grades. The week also ended with the Strake vs. St. Thomas game at NRG. Strake beat St. Thomas 56-32. Duchesne Field Hockey played against their rivalry school, St. Agnes Academy, and beat SAA 3-1. I’d like to say Duchesne had a great start to an even greater school year.
