Crime Stoppers’ 2018 Gala
More than 360 supporters of Crime Stoppers of Houston gathered on Thursday, Oct. 25 for its “Leading the Way to a Safer Houston Gala” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown. The evening raised more than $473,000 to benefit public safety initiatives. The gala, which honored The Honorable Joanne King Herring, was chaired by Bashar and Brigitte Kalai and Ajay and Sippi Khurana. Cecilia Abbott, First Lady of Texas, introduced The Honorable Herring. Keynote speaker Joanna Coles, former chief content officer of Hearst Magazines, delivered a powerful and personable speech on raising children in the social media age. Emcee of the evening was Dominique Sachse and Dave Ward delivered welcoming remarks.
Attendees included Nick Florescu, Donae Chramosta, Amy Pierce, Lucinda Loya, Debbie Pakzaban, Michelle Heinz, Lindsay Aronstein, Natalie Ariz, Charlie and Jill Talisman, Ellen Cokinos, Sen. Joan Huffman, Yasmine Haddad, Donae Chramosta, Vicki Rizzo, Joella and Steve Mach, Brittany Zucker, Laura Max Rose, Leisa Holland-Nelson and Yvette Webb.
