Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

School’s out for the summer! We’ve rounded up a few events to enjoy with friends and family. (As always, please check individual event websites for weather-related updates.)
Cool off with ice cream at the Colonial Park Pool! There will be a variety of flavors and toppings to choose from. Afterwards, the swimming pool will be open for residents and their guests from 7- 8:30 p.m. Attendees must be 2019 Colonial Park members; normal residency policies and entrance fees will apply.
Come see some super jazzy cars at Evelyn’s Park. There will be Classic Cars & Trucks and Exotic Cars for all to see. This event is free and open to the public!
Second Annual Uptown Dine Around
The second annual Uptown Dine Around, which kicks off June 1 and continues through June 30, will offer special prices and menu items at a variety of Uptown Houston restaurants, ranging from fine dining to fast casual. The Uptown Houston District and participating restaurants will make donations to the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. See more details and participating restaurants here.
Take your chairs, pillows and blankets to the Galveston Strand to watch a free, family-friendly movie, such as Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) version on June 1. Movie Nite films begin at dusk and are the first Saturday of the month.
Hang out with friends at Levy Park! There will be food trucks, bubble stations, face painting, live music, and other activities. The Block Parties will be on the first Sunday of June, July and August. The June Block party will be '90s themed -show up with your Nirvana shirts and chokers!
Come watch some dazzling performances by METdance at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, as they finish their 23rd season Better Together which celebrates teamwork, connection, collaboration, and partnership. The evening will be full of enthusiasm, rhythm and great music.
