This past week, Emery celebrated Homecoming with a dress up week, pep rally, football game, and high school dance. On each day of the week, students and staff were encouraged to dress to the theme of the day.
Some themes were: Lazy Monday (Pajama Day), Workout Wednesday, and Blue Out! On Friday, the week ended with a pep rally to get everyone excited about the upcoming game. There were faculty vs. student games and the cheerleaders lead many spirit chants.
On Saturday, Emery’s football team played against Lakeland Christian and won with a score of 55 to 22! Following the game was the Homecoming dance with the theme of neon. The cafeteria was decorated with colorful balloons and neon lights that made everyone’s outfits glow in the dark.
Senior Morgan Brandt said, “Homecoming was so much fun! This was my favorite one by far, and I’m glad that my favorite was my last one. The theme was neon and my nails and all of my clothes were glowing it was so cool. We danced and sang all night. I’m sad that it was my last homecoming but I will have the memories forever.”
