The TUNNEL by Big Art is a large-scale, interactive art installation that takes visitors through a cosmic adventure. The art installation was unveiled yesterday, Sept. 5. THE TUNNEL will be on view to visitors through Oct. 5.
Brookwood’s Annual Fall Fest

Shop fall plants, flowers, and home décor at the Brookwood Gift & Garden Center. Brookwood will host over 40 local vendors showcasing food, clothes, jewelry, home decor, garden items, and more. Support local artists and Brookwood’s adults with disabilities by visiting the retail store, featuring the Citizens’ handcrafted products and fall flowers.

Endea Owens and The Cookout Produced by DACAMERA

Detroit native bass player Endea Owens is one of jazz’s most vibrant emerging artists. After graduating from Juilliard, she joined the Late Show with Stephen Colbert as a member of the house band, Stay Human. Since then, Endea has won an Emmy, a Grammy and the George Foster Peabody Award. Her work has appeared on Jon Batiste’s Grammy Award-winning album We Are, the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated film Judas and the Black Messiah, and her own debut recording Feel Good Music.

The Japan-America Society of Houston presents the 2024 Japanese Festival of Houston in Hermann Park on Sept. 7-8. The 2024 festival is timed to coincide with Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan, which will be on view at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston through Sept. 15. Japan Festival Houston is an annual celebration of Japanese culture. Enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music, dance and martial arts, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony, origami, bonsai and more.
Sprinkler Day

Cool off at Nature Discovery Center with a favorite summer activity: running through sprinklers. The Center's front lawn will be set up with sprinklers, kiddie pools, and water toys. Kids should wear bathing suits and bring a towel and a change of clothes. Kids can also bring water toys of their own.
Rin’ History and Story – ’24 Waggaki Sessions Produced by Japan America Society of Houston

Explore and engage with Japan’s musical past, present, and future as Japan-America Society of Houston presents wagakki trio Rin’. United by boundless creative energy and rigorous training under Living National Treasures, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music alumni Chie Arai, Mana Yoshinaga, and Tomoca Nagasu have created a new sound that combines the koto (zither), biwa (lute), sangen (shamisen), and shakuhachi (bamboo flute) with mainstream music.
