Rodeo connections
I have enjoyed The Buzz for several years now. I especially enjoyed your recent article [Rodeo in the Family: Bringing it home in Rodeo Houston’s new women’s roping event, by Andria Frankfort, March 2022] on the Waters and Outhier families. Wanda [Waters] and I went to Bellaire together and our kids grew up together. Reading about the family and all their successes was wonderful. I’m thrilled for Madison [Outhier] and all of her hard work and all of her achievements in the rodeo arena and beyond. Information on the new rodeo event was also so interesting. To inform the community and to support these women athletes is fantastic.
Thank you for all the wonderful stories you share with the Houston communities.
PS: I recently got a Havanese puppy because of your article on the breed in April 2021 [Louie, age 16, Neighborhood Tails, The Memorial Buzz]. She is pure joy!

Editor’s note: Jamie, thank you for your feedback on our Rodeo story. And we love that our Neighborhood Tails column inspired you to add to your family. We think it’s your Havanese puppy’s turn to appear in Neighborhood Tails soon.
Travel tales
Just wanted to thank you, Tracy, for all the help, efforts and time on the Travel Buzz column [A winter escape to paradise, by Tracy L. Barnett, Feb. 2022]. The pictures and the story are absolutely lovely. A couple of friends and neighbors have reached out and congratulated us. You may be getting a few extra travel stories from them. You truly are the best. Thank you so much.

Kudos to book column and book reviewer
Cindy [Burnett], thank you for your monthly column [Buzz Reads]. I look forward to it and pursue each of the titles that interest me. I have several of your recommendations that I have read and would like to share with your other readers. Where is your Little Free Library in Southside Place? I will bring them by. Thank you.

Editor’s note: We asked Cindy to respond to Cathy with the address of her Little Free Library. Cathy reported back: “Cindy responded immediately and gave me the address of her library. I went by and, yes, it was fully stocked. She not only talks the talk - she walks the walk!” For book recommendations, plus a story about Cindy’s new Little Free Library, see Cindy’s weekly Page Turners column. And for more on those tiny libraries you may have spotted around the neighborhood, see “Little Free Libraries” by Cindy Burnett.
Sweet memories from 2002
Karen Vine Fuller sent me the link highlighting my husband and I back in 2002 [Texans in Bellaire: Sports celebrities choose small-town feeling, by Heather Saucier, Sept. 2002]! Kris [Brown] and I are still so proud of that fun article! It was truly a milestone in our lives. We are now living in Omaha, with the kiddos now 13, 15, and 17. Our oldest, Kolby, is getting ready to graduate high school. He received a scholarship to Creighton University to play golf. We found out the freshman he is rooming with was born in Houston at the Med Center three weeks apart from Kolby! This Houston connection follows you through life!
I wanted to wish you a big congrats on 20 years! We still love Bellaire; it holds a very dear spot in our hearts!
