A special place
Cheryl, thank you for writing such a beautiful piece about Noah’s House [Home Sweet Home: Inside Noah’s House, by Cheryl Ursin, December 2019]. Many people have reached out about how the story touched them. And Doug [Wildenradt] is so proud! We will treasure this always!

Cornbread for everyone
Thank you for showcasing my favorite recipes in your publications [Kitchen Traditions: Recipes with staying power, by Andria Frankfort, December 2019]. I received calls from Memorial, Bellaire and Tanglewood – and they all want me to make them a cornbread! It was such a pleasure working with Pooja Salhotra and the photographer, and I feel honored to be in your publication. It’s nice to see articles about local Houstonians and how they come together for the holidays. We all have our “special” recipe that our family enjoys, and now I got to share mine! I enjoy reading The Buzz each month as I always know people profiled! Happy holidays and keep up the good work.

Heartfelt words
The article about Cole Dawson was awesome [Braveheart: Giving thanks for a given heart, by Jennifer Oakley, November 2019]. He looks great, and I have shared the article with our friend waiting for a heart. [Jennifer], you are a gifted writer.

Spot on
Many nice compliments, Cheryl [Kitchen Garden: An edible little yard in the city, by Cheryl Ursin, November 2019]! You really made my year! I never thought a hobby that I love so dearly would land on the cover of a magazine [The Memorial Buzz]. Chris [Oliver] read the article and said, “Spot on – sounds exactly like you!” Thought you would want to know.

Passion for plants
I finally sat down to read the Buzz article [Native Plants: Creating bird-friendly yards, by Pooja Salhotra, October 2019]. It is beautifully written. You covered every important aspect of the value of native plants. In fact, you probably expressed what I was trying to say better than I did. Thank you for all your work. I think it has been widely read.

Fur baby love
Our family loved reading Friends and Dogs: Meeting through fur babies by Annie Blaylock McQueen [October 2019]. Our boxer, Sonny, spent many happy hours playing with dogs at Tanglewood Park. He made friends there and so did we. The picture of those adorable golden retriever puppies reminds us of all the joy Sonny brought to our lives… and the mayhem! There’s nothing more fun than a puppy!

Touching article
I want to say a big thank you to Pooja Salhotra and The Buzz for writing and publishing the meaningful and important articles about Touching the Heart, the Jewish Family Service text-based digital wellness initiative sponsored by the Eric M. Suhl Foundation [Touching Hearts: With caring texts from a stranger, by Pooja Salhotra, November 2019]. We have gotten a number of calls and new sign-ups [mentalhealthletstalk.org/touching-the-heart/] since the articles and photos were published, and we thank you for educating so many all over our city about mental health conditions and the need for prevention and wellness and connection. Pooja did such an outstanding job understanding this sensitive topic and writing timely and important work, and I particularly wanted to let you know how professional and capable she is and what an important member of your team. We are very grateful.
