Chief Joseph Sanders
Joseph (JD) Sanders received his BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee, in Martin, Tennessee. In addition Mr. Sanders attended the 172nd Session of FBI National Academy and the 38th Session of the Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar in Quantico, Virginia. He continued his education at the National Center for Rural Law Enforcement's Rural Executive Management Institute. Chief Sanders also attended Law Enforcement Training Academies in Tennessee, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas. He has continued to interact with the law enforcement education community by acting as an instructor and facilitator for the University of Tennessee, Law Enforcement Innovation Center. Chief Sanders has directed promotional assessment centers and has assessed the management practices of numerous police agencies as a consultant. The Memorial Villages Police Commission appointed Chief Sanders MVPD Chief of Police beginning July 1, 2013.
