Editor's Note - September 2017

This summer we had our largest group of interns ever, nine students. Each came in with a unique set of skills, goals and personalities, but all connected with each other. Every challenge was met with enthusiasm and creativity and, often, laughter. There were many funny adventures, such as the time Jordan Miller-Mandel and Maddy Payne returned to the office wearing beach towels over their damp swimsuits after we sent them kayaking down Buffalo Bayou for a blog post or the time we sent Trevor Schneider in search of a hard-to-find e-cigarette to go with Michelle Groogan’s story on vaping. Thank you to all of our 2017 summer interns – Jordan, Maddy and Trevor, plus Karina Arnold, Andrew Duong, Aaron Feldstein, Eli Maierson, Nicki Miller and Sophia Wayne – for your hard work and passion. Now that you are back at school, the office is a lot quieter these days. We hope your experiences at the Buzz prepared and inspired you for the year ahead. You certainly inspired all of us.
