Karen Vine Fuller
Karen Vine Fuller never met a lipstick she didn’t like and has the giant red smile to prove it. After growing up in Corpus Christi, life led Karen to Austin for a Radio/Television/Film and Child Development degree from University of Texas. Next was San Diego to conquer the children’s television world (and have a free place to live with her sister). For the next decade, Karen worked in children’s TV programming and on blockbusters (the term is used loosely) like Renegade, starring Lorenzo Lamas as a Harley driving bounty hunter. Further adventures included sports television: 1996 Atlanta Olympics, ABC CART Racing, ESPN Winter X-Games and the New York Marathon. One weekend Karen flew back to Corpus for a wedding and reconnected with Andrew, an old friend who swept her off her feet and persuaded her to move to Houston. They lived happily ever after. (Yes, an Aggie/Longhorn marriage can survive.) Houston adventures have included 14 years at HoustonPBS/Channel 8 in the Community Education and Outreach Department. Karen coordinated the Children’s Reading Rainbow Writing Contest, which inspired her to write.
